    Grampy, Gosh, that Osprey is really, REALLY busy. It’s amazing what big branches these birds can bring back to the nest. (Same goes for Eagles.) It’s easy to see the Osprey “thinking” how it’s going to make the branch fit, how to bend it, how to make it work. A beautiful story in pictures. MCS

  2. Wow, the ospreys lift some pretty long branches!
    That’s an excellent shot of the pileated woodpecker. They’re smart birds that aren’t easy to get. I saw a pine tree that had been shredded by one today.

      The Osprey seems to be game to try any size and see if it can pick it up. Sometimes they drop them, deciding to big or small I spose’. Thank You. The pileateds sure can make the sawdust fly…
