Happy New Year

Happy New Year. It rained all day on the last day of 2016. I only got out for a short time when the rain slowed down to a drizzle in the late afternoon. Got lucky and caught an eagle catching a fish. 2016 was a good year photographically. I felt as if I made great improvement in my skills. The first six images today are from the last day of the year. Then I made quick pics of two photos from each month of the year that caught my eye. I did not go through all the images as I probably averaged around 400 pics a month.

Now on to 2017. No resolutions for me. Not my thing. Resolutions I have always thought were admitting to something wrong with me that needs fixing. Accepting my faults and trying to improve on them comes natural, no need to pick one, I have many. A few years back the “Little Woman” and I liked the idea of a word for the year. Sort of a goal or guideline to point for in the future. Like resolutions I soon forgot. So this year I will start the new year with simply stating where I am at in the present in a single word. Home.

Choosing to stay home to begin the year. At the expense of missing time from my wife, two of our kids and grandchildren. I know that is selfish. Choosing to be where I am happiest. A tough decision. One that I can change should I recognize the error of my ways.

Here is wishing you all a Happy New Year. May your decisions guide you in the right direction. Do what makes you find joy each day. Yes, you can always back up and follow another path. Take it as it comes. Making the best of it…

      Tammy W,
Happy New Year back at ya. Thank You, Remember I get to shoot everyday. That allows for a lot more practice and opportunities. I have had plenty of those days when I wonder if I will ever improve. For me it is not about getting the best picture with the camera, but being out and wowed at the pictures nature provides me to see. The camera many, many times allowing me to see what I missed with the naked eye. Keep at it a great way for you and your other half to spend time together. It makes the discoveries even more special when my “Little Woman” is with me.
