Eating Scraps And Random Thoughts On The Now

It looked like the birds are down to eating scraps of fish yesterday below Kentucky Dam. The recent flooding in Nashville,Tn has the Tenneeseee Valley Authority releasing a huge amount of muddy water. I can’t recall ever seeing Osprey picking up fish scraps and not a whole fish. Yesterday the were picking up scraps. Gulls will often pick up scraps but not Osprey. Even the eagles have brought in unrecognizable scraps to feed the young the last couple days.

On another note I received my second Covid vaccine shot. The next morning and still feeling fine. Slept on the shoulder that I received the shot in so far so good. Hopefully in the not too distant future things can return to whatever the new normal looks like. This past year was a good one for me. Not much different than usual except not going in the grocery very often. Something I am not a fan of doing anyhow. We did miss making as many visits with the kids and grandkids that live away. Modern technology still allowed us to see and speak with them as if we were almost there.

I think the working at home thing may change for many how often they are required to drive in to work and back each day. That I feel is a good thing. Reducing traffic and exhaust into the atmosphere a plus to me.

The new government administration making huge changes again. Time will tell if for the better. I am relieved that the outright lying, discrimination and proliferation of fear mongering by the last administration has stopped. We still have a lot to figure out as a country. Having been a gun owner and hunter all my life. We do need to figure out how to reduce the number of guns. For me automatic, semi-automatic, and pistols I could live without. I fear not that this would make me vulnerable. I do fear for my grandkids in schools, but ya know that will always be out of my control.

From what I have read IMPROVING THE AREA FOLKS LIVE IN and have the most crime is the best way to reduce crime and gun violence.

As far as diversity of races I have never had a problem with that. Everything that has ever been stolen from me has been done by my own race. Drugs and the thought they can get away with it sight unseen the driving factor in those cases.

On the LGBT or GLBT movement is also something I do not fear. Folks are born different. I have seen it and I get it. There are still more than plenty of so called straight folks to continue the human species. What would give me the right to tell anyone else what their sexual desires are or preference. I will worry about me. Perhaps living where I do and how I do may tint my judgement. Change even for me is difficult but I have learned to except it as normal. It is just how this old world goes round.

Working together and helping those in need when they need it is what I stand for. I am one who believes in the old saying, teach someone to fish and they are much better off than giving them fish. Enough of my opinion. Have a great Easter Sunday…

Another beautiful “Random Thoughts”. You are a really good writer, and those thoughts are so ‘well said’. It’d take me write, erase, write, edit, reorganize. . . Or maybe you did that. Not likely, since you write with a natural flow. Maybe, when you tire of photographing or your camera wears out, you will continue to write. You should. Loving the sunrise over Moon Bay, Barkley Lake, gorgeous. It is now my laptop picture for awhile. And my oh my, how the Eaglets have grown. Happy Easter Sunday to you too.

      Ellen,
Thank You for the kind words. I did want to work at writing when I started the blog. The picture taking took over and I do just write down thoughts and fail to organize or use any structure, which is why I often get sidetracked. The shot of the bay and lake in background caught my eye with the fishing boat and the towboat. Spring colors coming on. Yes, the eaglets are growing fast. Hope your Easter was grand…

I agree with your opinions. I do own a pistol now after I’ve been running into bears but I went up into “bear country” today and didn’t bring it. Instead I brought bear spray which I didn’t have to use.
Congratulations on having had your shots. I had a sore arm for a bit with the first and I get the second in a couple of weeks. My kids don’t seem thrilled about the idea and that bothers me.
Too bad about the big birds not being able to fish. I hope the water clears up soon.
    Nice shots!

      New Hampshire Gardener,
If I lived in bear country I might think differently on the pistol. But never felt the need when out fishing streams in Alaska. Always saw the bears coming and moved on. Of course I was young then and had the youthful sense of invincibility. Glad you took the shot and getting the second. My son had had both and daughter their first. The rivers usually clear up pretty fast so thing should get back to normal soon. Thank You…
