Eagles And A Grandson

Got out for a short time yesterday morning. Only one juvenile eagle spotted at the river. It landed on a mooring cell. Searched the water for an hour or so then flew off for the lake. I followed and went to the lake too. Found a pair of eagles perched at the local parks recreation area. Got one nice series as one took off. Two shots caught the eagles head shadow on a wing, I like that. The other eagle turned and flew out the other way, the tree blocking any shots.

Went home and saw our son and daughter-in-law off as they headed home. Walked with my grandson or rather followed my grandson as he likes it outside.  At eighteen months old. He took off down the hill with the dogs headed for the garden. He had no hesitation about crossing our metal footbridge that crosses the crick. Spent a good while with him tossing sticks off the bridge in to the water. He kept saying “more, more”. So we would go find some more sticks to throw. The temperature warming back up again. It was a pleasant morning.

I wondered a bit as we sat on the back porch. Nolan my grandson making music by whacking the wind chimes with his hand. I never thought I would see an eagle in my youth. Will eagles still be around when Nolan grows up?
