Eagle Activity Slowing Down

Back home after a nice visit with our Louisville bunch over the Holidays. I hope your holiday was as fun and relaxing as ours.

It looked this morning as if the young eagle pair are slowing down on adding to the Osprey nest they have taken over. They fished early then seemed to rest and vigilantly watch for other adult or immature eagles to keep them out of the nest area. A check back in the afternoon and they still mainly rested and seemed to be on the lookout. Only bringing grass to the nest once for each of the pair…

I wonder if there’s a chick in that nest.
I had an eagle soaring over me this morning, just above the tree tops. It’s easy when you only see them once in a while to forget how big they are.
    Nice shots!

      New Hampshire Gardener,
The earliest they normally start sitting eggs is the end of January. Eaglets hatch out 35 days later. Yes, they are large birds for sure. Thank You…
