Cold Day Little Action (Mostly Leftovers)

Spent about six and a half hours out in the cold yesterday with not much to show for it. There was little activity. After the first four images are leftovers from the day before…

Jim, Those little birds, and particularly the Cardinal too, are all puffed up trying to keep warm. Not surprising little was going on with the weather as it is..Birds in the cold amaze me; they seem to carry their own down comforters with them. You capture them perfectly.
You also capture the seriousness of whatever has set the eagles after a threat to their nest. They surely are not fooling around with whatever it is. MCS

      Mary S,
The birds do seem to be able to fluff up and take the cold well. Although it seems they are slow to start moving on the frigid mornings. I think there must have been some food, a small bird or rodent in that grass. Whatever it was they sure did fuss over it…

  2. I like seeing the killdeer, meadow lark and cardinal but you got some great shots of the eagles too!
We’re headed below zero for the next few nights.

    • Jim says:

      New Hampshire Gardener,
It was good to see the killdeer and meadow lark, been a while. I can look out my door and see cardinals most everyday of the year. BURR, that is too cold. It was tough being out today when the high was 15. When the wind would take a break it did not feel too bad. Low tonight of 10, then we will start warming up. High tomorrow in the mid-thirties…
