Great shots of the ducks and flickers!
New Hampshire Gardener,
Yes, N.Hamp.G. is right on. My favorites here would be the flickers, and the beautiful moth. Had to save a few of the eagles too. The clarity on their heads while in flight helped me note the differences in male vs. female. I’m finally guessing which is which correctly. Assuming, of course, if you are correct. Tee-hee, I know you are. All in all nice bunch to view. I hope you had a nice visit with the kids.
Unusual to see three flickers together. The male in flight will have a slight dip behind the head. Less feather detail on the head of the male, their heads are sort of slicker. I can usually tell pretty quickly now after years of observation. It adds interest to tell which eagle is doing the work, etc. The male does not pick up sticks from the ground near as much as the female, etc. Yes, had a great visit with the grandkids. They are growing up fast…
Hello Big Brother! It’s been a long time since I’ve checked in on your website. The pictures are absolutely beautiful. I was thinking how much Grammom would be loving them. All the hours she sat watching the birds from her kitchen window. I can’t help but think that’s partly where you get your interest from. It could also be the many, many hours you spent in the woods. Getting up SO early everyday just to hunt or explore…you’ve never changed and please don’t, I love you just the way you are!
Hey Pat, Great to hear from you. Yep, still do the same old things and grandmom was a large part of my interest listening to her growing up stories outdoors. Still get up early and head outside before sunrise to see what I can see. Thanks for stopping by and see what I been up too. Love You too…
