The same stop action photography that I loved from yesterday’s posts. Only this time I enjoyed the Pelicans’ chase, and the Pelican catch of fish details which even included an arched spray of water droplets from the fish’s tail. All the way from the water to the pelican mouth/beak! (assuming it is called a beak??? some how doesn’t sound right)

      Ellen,
Glad you enjoyed them. When I went mid-day with the intention of capturing the pelicans chasing the gulls I got the two series right away. Then could not catch it again. Always luck and timing involved. I too enjoy the spray’s of water. Can’t see that with the naked eye as it happens so fast. I think they still call it a beak with a throat pouch. Thank You for your input.

  2. I like the pelican shots with the water drops too. Nice shots!
I heard on the news this morning that eagles have made a strong comeback in this area but now people are complaining because they’re eating ducks and other birds. I wonder if they’re the same ones that complained about never seeing eagles.
It doesn’t look like the birds or fishermen minded the drizzle but when I have a camera I don’t like it. I hope you see some sun soon!

    New Hampshire Gardener,
Thank You, A friend told me about a news report about that, sad they were eliminating the cormorants and loons. I have a hard time believing that. Would have to see it myself. They scavenge mostly here. Have seen them try to catch coots, takes them a lot of effort. Have seen a few with coots. A few with ducks across from a hunting preserve. With roadkill squirrels and a rabbit. It struggled to carry the rabbit. I could be wrong, sure won’t be the first time. I don’t mind the drizzle my camera and lens are supposed to be weatherproof. Quit if it gets and heavier that a drizzle for sure. I am ready for a sunny day…
