I like seeing your fantastic shots of these little birds. I’m sure they’re all around me when I’m in the woods but I hardly ever see them, so it’s nice to see them here.
New Hampshire Gardener,
Enjoy shooting the small birds when they pop up. Have had some cooperate and let me get close lately…
Couldn’t make the comments stick for a few days and then my computer was down for two, so I’m checking in to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed everything from the flocks of birds, Pelicans and others days ago, to around the house today. I’ve had so many different kinds of birds at my seed table all at the same time. 6 or more kinds at a time. Your Downy, reminds me that even a rose breasted Wood Pecker the last three days has joined the pack. I’m amazed to see it turn its head/beak sideways to pick up the seed. Fascinating. It’s always a joy to see the variety of colors and sizes at the same time.
Yes, don’t know what the problem was with the comments. Glad it has cleared up now. Thank You for persisting. Sorry to hear about your computer had to replace a cooling fan in this old laptop recently. I should probably get a feed table or larger feeding station. I only feed when the weather is bad and don’t feel like the birds can find enough food sources. Suet cakes would be good for the woodpeckers too but I never seem to get them. The downy and red bellied woodpeckers will come to the feeder when there is snow or ice covering the ground. The same with the towhees. With the warm up we have had the past week the eagles are not going to the rivers in the afternoons. So I have hung around the house and enjoyed the small birds for a couple days now. I agree it is a joy to see the variety of colors and sizes…
