Thursday Afternoon Captures

I got out yesterday afternoon. I don’t enjoy photographing as much in the afternoon. The light always seems harsher. My energy levels are lower. It had warmed up a lot from the morning. With a lot of clouds the light came and went. Did not feel like reading so I headed out. I did have one splendid find. Spotted an American Woodcock strolling. The bird did not seem to pay any attention to me and let me approach to within 10 feet. Gotta love a ” timberdoodle ” its nickname…

  1. I love that shot of the night heron and how lucky you were with that beautiful woodcock! They’re very rare here now.

      New Hampshire Gardener,
Thank You. We have them on the farm passing through in the spring and fall. Usually in heavily shaded woodland. This one was out in nice light, slightly shaded. Never had one pay me no attention before…
