  1. Mary S. says:

Is this an old nest or a new nest? Or is this an eagle from a new pair, not the pair you’ve followed in the past? Everything seems so new somehow and the eagle seems to need to figure out exactly how to land. And the tree the nest is in also seems to have one or two “slingshots” built into it by the (dead? or leafless?) tree.
Is it an illusion, just me, or real that in the first pic each of the wings of the eagle seem to be about twice as large as the length of its body? The wings of birds always seem so much larger to me than their bodies. MCS

      Mary S,
This is a different new nest. This pair has had a nest for years on a hill that was always covered up where you could not take any photos. This year they built in the wide open in this dead old tree in a cattle pasture. Yes, the wings really show their length in a few of the photos today…

  2. Those are beautiful shots of them!
I like the wise look of the one in the flashback.
