Messy Weather Sunday In Western Kentucky

The calf and donkey are buddies whenever you see them in the pasture near the eagles nest they are together. It was a messy weather day that got nastier as the day went on. Ending with snow showers. Thankfully the weather forecasters missed the winter storm warning tonight calling for 3-5 inches of snow. It did not develop and I am grateful. Ready for winter to slip away and spring to arrive…

  1. Nice shots, and that’s a great shot of the falling snow. That isn’t easy!
I’ll have a chance to try again tomorrow. We’re expecting the 3rd nor’easter in 3 weeks.

      New Hampshire Gardener,
Thank You. Shot the snow out the back door, looked like we were going to get it, but it fizzled out. I hope the nor’easter fizzles out for you like our storm did…

Grampy is the eagles nest near the dam still active? This is Tammy I am headed down to land between the lakes this Friday would love to sit and watch the rages for awhile! Can you help? Thanks

    • Jim says:

      Tammy Liscomb,
No, the nest at the sheriff’s ranch was abandoned. They built another nest in the tree farm slough but it is not very accessible. There is another nest off the Cumberland river below Barkley dam on private property that y0u can see from the road. Don’t know the name of the road. The road is on the western side of the blue bridge that crosses the Cumberland River below Barkley Dam. There is a sign that says Barkley Dam motel. It is about a mile down that road past the motel. There is a farm on the left that has two arches that say Clyde Reed Farm. It is past those out in the pasture from a gate after the arches.

    That should say eagles!
