Gloomy Days Continue

We have had a run off gloomy days. Overcast, misty, rainy and warm turning cooler today. Seeing lots of eagles. Not being able to get in the right position to catch them fishing very close or doing any air combat so to speak. Will keep at it…

Grampy, Yes, it’s been gloomy here too with a humid cold temp. I find myself wondering about animals living outside all the time; they seem to have a metabolism that is made for such a life. I know my dog is like a little warm furnace when she cuddles up for sleep at night. Animals must all have that capability of keeping warm in the cold.
A question from someone who knows little about eagles: Is it the same maturing eagle in the pix? Or more than one? I tried checking feathers, etc., and can’t tell if it’s one or more than one.
And then it seems the eagle pair (the same pair from other years? or a different pair?) have decided on a nest to use. Is one sitting on eggs? laying eggs? while the other stands watch?
I also have to say that the little squirrel in your flashback pic from a day or two ago hovering between trees just grabbed my attention. What a perfect picture! MCS

    Mary S,
Yes, animals are very capable of handling the cold. That is the same maturing eagle in the first shots down to the ducks. It is a different nest and they are not setting eggs. Usually March before they start setting eggs around here. That was lucky catching the squirrel mid leap from tree to tree. Thank You…

  3. Still nice shots though!
It’s gotten real cold here now. Actually it’s just normal, but we were spoiled by the three month warm spell.
