Eaglet Returned

The eaglet returned by yesterday afternoon another photographer passed on to me. Yeah ! This morning I did not feel like watching the eagles so I went elsewhere. Glad I did. I am lucky to live in an area blessed with wildlife…

Good news all around, it seems. Eaglet sleeping/resting! Maybe tried its wings and landed with a bump; needed some rest time. (Can you imagine what it was “thinking”: Now what do I do? How do I get back “home”?) Mom might have been protecting the eaglet but also letting it rest. Mom seems to have drawn other birds away from the resting eaglet…or maybe I’m making that up.
Today’s selection of photos is great! Amazing how those tall birds (Egrets? [a new one to me]) can stand up in a tree. And I’m continually fascinated by what the long-necked birds can do with those long necks–make them small, medium, large, any size they choose. (Again, perhaps it’s just me.)
Your “spring fever” (or June Swoon as your wife calls it, I think you said) looks like it’s beginning to go away. A different choice of subject may be part of the cure. MCS

      Mary S,
Yes, since we have observed the eagles working so hard to raise their young, we hope they all make it. The tall birds are Great Blue Heron and it is amazing how long necked birds get all the use they can out of their make up. Still don’t feel in a lot of desire. I do like the early sunrises. Get up make a cup of coffee and head out…

  2. Glad the eaglet survived.
The heron chicks with their crazy hair won’t win any beauty contests but the cuteness of the foxes makes up for it.

      New Hampshire Gardener,
There are times when the heron look prehistoric. I think the look of the chicks fall in line with that…
