A Nice Variety Morning

It was a morning with a pleasing variety of birds, mostly found walking on the farm. Before sunrise a visit to the lake watching another bass fishing tournament blasting off from Kentucky Dam Marina. I remember the days when fishing was mostly a relaxing way to spend time. Leave it to man to make it a high speed, highly competetive contest….

  1. You sure did see some birds!
The orioles are beautiful birds and I’m hoping the come back here in big numbers someday.
Funny how all of the egrets seem to have those wispy feathers.
That heron doesn’t look happy! It looks like it tripped and fell in the mud!

      New Hampshire Gardener,
I am glad you picked up on the heron as I thought it did not look well either. The eyes seemed fine and it flapped its wing but did not fly when I got to within 10ft. Once I saw it was not hung up in fishing line or anything I left it be. A coupld times it looked like it was trying to regurgitate. Might have ate something bad.
