A Full Day Outdoors Around Kentucky Lake

A cool spell is supposed to arrive today. Spent the morning making my rounds watching the sunrise, checking the river, then heading to the pines. The small birds were not to active so I took a couple crow shots and moved on to the swamp. Not a lot happening there either. Did catch a pair of Wood Ducks as they zipped by overhead. Mowed the lawn then headed for Duncan Lake. The action was slow thereĀ  as well. Did get one opportunity as a pair of eagles did come in do bath in early afternoon. They chose to bath on the back side of the stumps so could only catch their heads popping up now and then. Did a pretty bad job of capturing the action. More missed than captures. After that pair of eagles left the action stopped. When I started shooting a fly on my hand with the macro lens I figured it was time to head home…

  1. For a slow day you sure got some beautiful shots, like the crow. Those are smart birds and I don’t see very many photos of them on any blog.
I like the fly too, and the flashback shot is amazing!
